Additions to bfexplorer for Trading?

Hi Stefan

Here are some of the features I would like to see included within future version of bfexplorer Pro.

1. Full market dept across all Ladders. Just showing the 3 back and Lay values isnt enough nowadays when Trading.

2. Right click stop loss or Trailing stop loss on Ladder interface.

3. Tick off set e.g. I place a back bet @ odds of 2.40 and BF will auto submit an opposing Lay bet at x ticks. You would also need to add a stop loss or trailing stop loss to this feature just incase the trade goes against you.

4. Be able to save settings from your previous session when using BF Trader e.g. I dont want confirmation when placing bets everytime I log on to bfexplorer. I have the Trader set at "place bets" but everytime I fire up the Trader it defaults to "manual Trading"

Bet Angel video

I have taken this video from a competitior. I hope you dont mind. This helps to explain what I'm looking for and I'm sure other users of your software would like to see the same.

I know you can create auto Bots to manage most of the above but alot of users prefer to manually watch and trade the markets without having it automated for them as these is only so much an automated bot can do.

Thanks

Ian

You maybe noticed that bfexplorer offers more products. As a PRO subscriber you can use all bfexplorer applications:

And the latest addition BXTrader, this application is in its final beta testing. So depending on what you do at betfair you can use the right tool. Bfexplorer PRO offers most of features, and actually all the rest of bfexplorer applications are built on this platform, even all bespoke solutions we build for users.

If you trade at betfair and prefer to trade on multiple selections then you use bfexplorer pro with this layout maybe:

And you maybe find out that you can place bets using the In-Play Trader view. If you prefer to trade with one “ladder”, as I do, then you maybe use the Bfexplorer PRO this way:

On the other hand, if you prefer to run your automated solution, then you maybe use the Bfexplorer PRO this way:

You run your solution using preset bot scripts with “Trade opportunity lookup service” or with “Execute my strategy on selections” tool. And of course you can run your bespoke solution we built according to your specification.

You do not need any ladder or market grid view, and charts so you switched them off, leaving only “Watched Selections” view so you can see how your bots work, if they are in profit or in loss, and if necessary you can close your position manually. Of course you can switch off the watched selections as well, but you need to switch it off in the application settings: Add selection to watched markets after placing a bet.

You can switch on monitoring of your results:

You want to add into the ladder interface the right click stop loss or a trailing stop loss. This feature is already implemented by switching your trading strategy into the Automated Trading mode, and then the ladder interface will act exactly as you want, when you place a bet the bot wizard: Close Position appears where you can set your parameters for closing your position.

This trading operation is executed by ClosePosition bot. As you can see I added six most used bots into the Trading strategy mode you can use with the ladder interface. What you maybe did not notice is the fact that those bots takes your click on the ladder interface as entry parameters for bot execution: odds, stake and bet type. For instance if the trading strategy is set to: “Be the first in queue” or “auto trader” bot, your click on the ladder interface will set the accepted odds range, in what this bot could operate, all that makes sense.

On the other hand, the Bfexplorer PRO does not offer just one or two trading strategy you can execute. The Bfexplorer PRO uses 10 different bots and possibility add your own custom bots script. Have a look at here (the Bot Executor view):

And it is maybe common that some users have got even more bot settings they could use when necessary. The Bfexplorer PRO is opened and customizable, and the Bot Executor is a mean to execute your betting or trading strategy.

When you decide and enter on a market with intention to place a bet and after the opening bet is matched to close your position with preset parameters either in profit or in loss, do you really need the ladder interface to execute such trading strategy?

I do not think so you need it. All you need is to select a selection on which you want to run your bet or trading strategy, and the select the strategy (the bot with preset parameters) in the Bot executor view, and click on the Start the bot toolbar button.

You maybe know that you can set for each bot you would setup with the Bot Executor, the parameter: PlaceBetOnRunner where you can set on which selection the Bot executor will run your bot, in this case you have to set the parameter: Sort selections by, so market selections are first sorted by this criteria, and then the right selection is taken.

So in this case you do not even have to select a selection on which you want to run your bot. If you are in-play (in-running) trader then you can execute your bets really quickly, just in the right moment select what bot you want to run and click on the Start the bot toolbar button.

With the BXTrader project I want to open a discussion about the right user interface for traders, and about features which such betfair trading software should offer.

In the first beta version I have added just base features. If you are a trader, no matter what type of trading you prefer, you always manage your position manually, you decide at what moment your place your opening bet and when your place your closing bet. If you close your position (trade it out, hedge) at equal profit or at zero risk profit. You decide when your zero risk profit is hedged.

Therefore I did not implement any automation feature for BXTrader, it is just questions of simplicity not only in the user interface part.

The BXTrader offers full depth market prices if you switch on this feature.

Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.

Right click close position for ladder interface

I have just released the new version of Bfexplorer PRO adding the right click “Close Position” feature. If you opened your position and click on the column representing your closing bet type, the Bot Wizard: Close Position appears where you can set parameters for closing your position.

    Hi Stefan

Thanks for the right click "close position" will this also place an automated opposing stop loss if the trade goes against you?

Also is there anyway you can automatically set your criteria for "close position" e.g. set stop loss @ x % and return on investment @ x % without being continually prompted to submit? as I want the Bot to do this automatically as soon as I right click on the ladder as you know how qickly a trade can go against you?

What about full market depth as I feel this feature should be standard for Pro version?

It would be superb if you could integrate the right click stop loss just like the video from Bet Angel. This way you can drag your stop loss up and down the ladder to lock in profits. This is especially useful if you encounter a swing trade.

    Thanks

    Ian

Right click stop at profit or loss feature was added to all Bfexplorer trading software.

After your position is opened, at least part of your bet is matched, you can define on the Trade the Selection view (the ladder interface) your stop at profit and/or stop at loss, simply by right clicking on the column representing your closing bet.

You can see on the picture above, my opening bet was back bet 100 Euro at 5.0, at the moment I could close my position at equal profit 35,12 Euro. I set my closing positions to profit at 3,4 odds (the green) at potential profit of 47,06 Euro and I set my closing position to loss at 5,4 (the red).

If you want to switch off any stop level again click on the odds representing your closing position, or you can simply stop running the bot: ClosePositionAtOdds.

Well, actually it was implemented by trading bots like Place Bet and Close Position, so you could use it with Bot Executor or the Bot Wizard.

This new feature on the ladder interface adds possibility to setup stop at profit or at loss by right clicking on the ladder interface, so you can see it visually on the ladder.

You have to install the latest version if you want to use this feature: Bfexplorer PRO 2.8.3

    Hi Stefan

Could you add the ability to drag your stop loss up and down the ladder interface with the mouse cursor. This is very useful if you want to lock in a profit as the odds move in your favour.

The right click stop loss in its current form doesnt allow for the user to re-right click the stop loss up or down the Ladder if the trade has moved in your favour. I want to be able to lock in as much profit as possible if I spot a trend or swing trade BEFORE I decide to close my position?

    Thanks

    Hi stefan

Can you adjust the right click stop loss to allow the user to re-right click if the odds move in your favour rather than the Bot auto closing your bet when you re-right click?

    Thanks

    Ian
